Curry College graduates celebrate at the Xfinity Center

The Curry College Commencement ceremony will return to the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts on May 18, 2025. The schedule of weekend events, including those taking place at our Milton Campus, along with resources for students and families, will be updated below throughout the Spring 2025 semester.

In the meantime, please feel free to book at a local hotel in anticipation of the festivities.

Graduates of ALL MAJORS, their families, and members of the community are invited to attend a reception to honor our graduates. Please join fellow classmates, friends, and family to reminisce and celebrate.

Commencement Rehearsal (Virtual) and Names Hotline

Commencement rehearsal will be sent to students virtually in May 2025. This video will contain a special message from President Gonzalez, along with important information regarding this year's ceremony. All graduate names will be read for pronunciation accuracy as well.

In the meantime, students can call the Commencement Hotline to proactively provide your name pronunciation at 617-391-5253.

  • Select Option 1 for undergraduate students - last names beginning with A-L
  • Select Option 2 for undergraduate students - last names beginning with M-Z
  • Select Option 3 for all Master’s Degree and CAGS student names.

Commencement Tickets and Seating

Commencement 2025 tickets are now available for ordering! Please review the important information below before proceeding to secure your tickets.

  • Each graduate has access to up to 20 tickets.
  • There is no cost associated with the tickets.
  • Graduates DO NOT NEED TICKETS. Tickets are needed for guests only.
  • Seating is general/open seating and first come, first served.
  • Graduates will be seated with their classmates. They do not sit with their families or guests during the ceremony.

We have partnered with Universe to manage the ticketing for Commencement.

NOTE: Any questions or issues related with your Universe account should be directed to Universe. Curry College does not have access to manage accounts related to Universe.

Ceremony Etiquette

To maintain the pomp and circumstance of Commencement, and out of respect for each and every graduating Curry College student, we ask that ALL participants and families remain at their seats until the conclusion of the full ceremony.

PLEASE NOTE: Dogs, balloons, and alcohol are not permitted at the Xfinity Center. The venue will also not allow any signs, flags or banners of any size this year in order to mitigate any potential issues, including images or messaging that could be deemed offensive to others.

Arrival Time for Sunday Commencement

Graduating students are expected to arrive at the Xfinity Center no later than 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025 for formations of the procession.

Rain or shine, students should gather at the tents in the south portion of the Xfinity Center, where they will receive instructions regarding the line formation. Curry College Bookstore representatives will have a table in the tent area and will be available to provide assistance for any students experiencing difficulty (size, etc.) with their caps and gowns.

Families and guests are strongly encouraged to arrive prior to 9:00 a.m. to allow plenty of time for seating before the procession begins. The procession of graduates begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. Gate will open at 8:30 a.m.

Cap & Gown Information

Visit the Curry College Bookstore beginning Monday, April 21 thru Friday May 9, 2025 to purchase your cap & gown.

Curry graduates wear black caps, gowns, and tassels, as well as a colored hood, which indicates the degree earned.

Other Important Information:

The Xfinity Center (originally the Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts, and commonly Great Woods) is an outdoor Amphitheatre located in Mansfield, Massachusetts. The venue opened during the summer of 1986 with a capacity of 12,000. It was expanded in 1994 to 19,900; 7,000 reserved seats, 7,000 open-air seats and 5,900 general admission seats. In 2010, the Xfinity Center was named Top Grossing Amphitheater by Billboard. 

  • Security Screening: Everyone entering the Xfinity Center is subject to a security screening. When coming through the gates, please be prepared for security to use metal detectors and/or a physical pat down for our search procedures as well as all bags within our bag policy to be searched by security. If you have a medical reason for not wanting to be searched via metal detectors, please ask for a supervisor. More information can be found here: https://www.livenation.com/venueguidelines/.

  • Bag Policy: Only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC tote bags no larger than 12” x 6” x 12” and/or small clutch bags no larger than 6”x9” are permitted into the venue. No other bags of any type will be allowed. All bags are subject to search upon entry. Guests have the right to refuse a bag search and the venue has the right to refuse entry. If you have any items that are not allowed into the venue, guests have the option to bring them back to their car.

  • Water Policy: Guests are welcome to bring factory sealed bottled water (up to one gallon) or an empty reusable plastic bottle with them to the venue. There are filling stations located outside restroom facilities for those bringing reusable water bottles. The Xfinity Center will also have bottled water on sale at the concession food truck area closest to guest seating.

  • Signs, Flags, and Banners: We will not allow any signs, flags or banners of any size this year in order to mitigate any potential issues, including images or messaging that could be deemed offensive to others.

In order to participate in Commencement, a student needs to meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be within four (4) credits of degree completion
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better*
  • Be in good financial standing with the College. Please be aware that all Curry bills must be paid in full in order to participate in Commencement and to receive your degree.
  • Have not participated in any previous year's Commencement ceremony related to the same degree

*Master's degree candidates must have completed all degree requirements and have a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Students who have any questions regarding eligibility to participate in Commencement should contact their academic advisor.

A professional photographer will be present for both the Nursing Pinning and Recognition ceremony and the Commencement ceremony to capture the moment students are pinned and/or awarded their diplomas. Full-color proofs of the photos will be emailed to students at no charge approximately one week after Commencement.

Personal videotaping of the ceremonies, as a whole and/or isolated segments, will not be accommodated due to space limitations and to respect the viewing needs of the seated audience.

Friends and families will also have the opportunity to view video recordings of both ceremonies and the Sunday Commencement ceremony will be streamed live at Curry.edu/Commencement25.

Service animals are permitted inside the venue during events. Only registered working animals are permitted.

Beautiful bouquets of roses will be available on-site at the Commencement ceremony at Xfinity Center. Our booth will be located just inside the entrance to the venue.

If family and guests will be coming from out of town for Commencement activities and need local lodging accommodations, please see our list of area hotels for contact information and reservations near the Curry campus.  Note that there may be more options closer to the Xfinity Center site not included on our list, if preferred. Please be advised that hotels fill up quickly for the Commencement season and we encourage you to reserve a room now before they are all booked.

Parking: Xfinity Center - Sunday Commencement Ceremony

Free, ample parking is available at the Xfinity Center and accessible parking is available for those who have an appropriate handicapped placard. The Parking area is large, and guests should plan accordingly to allow enough time to walk from their parking space to the ceremony location. Guests may be dropped off at the gate while another guest parks. Wheelchairs will be available at the gate to assist those with varying abilities get to their seats.

Directions to Xfinity Center

Xfinity Center (previously Comcast Center, Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts aka Great Woods) is located at the junction of Routes 140 and 495 South (within minutes of I-95). From Boston: Take I-95 South to exit 7A-140 South, follow for 3 1/2 miles. From Worcester: Take 495 South, to exit 11. From Providence: take I-95 North, to exit 6A-495 South, to exit 11. From Cape Cod: Take 495 North, to exit 10-123, follow 123 West to 140 North. 

Parking: Curry College Milton Campus - Saturday Events

On campus parking spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are encouraged to arrive prior to events they are attending as parking is limited at the Student Center.

Quincy Miller

Quincy Miller, Vice Chair, President, and COO of Eastern Bank to Deliver Commencement Address

Quincy Miller, Vice Chair, President, and COO of Eastern Bank, will serve as Commencement Speaker at Curry College’s 2025 Commencement on May 18 at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Mass. Miller will also receive an honorary degree. Other honorary degree recipients include Jane Steinmetz, Office Managing Principal at EY, and Thomas Aicardi ‘87, Executive Vice President at Triumvirate Environmental.
