Quincy Miller, Vice Chair, President, and COO of Eastern Bank, will serve as Commencement Speaker at Curry College’s 2025 Commencement on May 18 at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Mass. Miller will also receive an honorary degree. Other honorary degree recipients include Jane Steinmetz, Office Managing Principal at EY, and Thomas Aicardi ‘87, Executive Vice President at Triumvirate Environmental.
Miller joined Eastern Bank in 2016, a full service commercial and retail bank with $26 billion in total assets and over 100 banking locations serving communities in eastern Massachusetts, southern and coastal New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Miller has 28 years of banking experience and is proud to help lead the strategic direction of Eastern Bank, the largest community bank in MA and one of the 10 most philanthropic companies in the Commonwealth.
Miller was raised by his mother and grandparents in Harrisburg, PA and was the first of his family to graduate college. He attended Lafayette College on a football scholarship, majoring in Economics & Business, and was captain of the Football team his senior year. He remains very active with his alma mater, serving on the Board of Trustees and running a mentoring program and endowment fund to support current football players of color.
Miller is committed to supporting the communities where he lives and works. He serves on the Boards of Directors for Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, The Boys and Girls Club of Boston, Nector CDFI, and NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) New England, and the National Consumer Bankers Association. He is also a founding member and current Vice Chair of The New Commonwealth Fund.
He has been recognized by the Boston Business Journal as a “Power 50 Most Influential and Impactful Leaders in Boston”, multiple years as “The 100 Most Influential People in Boston” by Boston Magazine and as an inaugural member of the GK100 “Most Influential People of Color in Boston” by Get Konnected. A special honor was the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast’s “MLK 50th Anniversary Award” for his community commitment, which expresses Dr. King’s commitment to justice and equity.
Miller and his wife, Jenna, have two children and have lived in Milton since 2016, right up the road from Curry College, often sitting on their back deck and listening to the announcers from Katz Field.
