Our diverse, flexible and entrepreneurial Media and Communication Arts program develops and empowers our students to become media content creators and strong communicators, demonstrating invaluable skills employers across all industry types are seeking. Media and Communication Arts MajorCommunication Studies Minor
The minor in Communication Studies provides Media and Communication Arts majors a broader and deeper learning experience in a variety of communication fields, which are meant to align with your career aspirations. Students outside of the MCA major are invited to benefit from a minor in Communication Studies as well. Not only will this interdisciplinary minor enhance your professional toolbelt, but many of our courses fulfill Gen Ed requirements in the Arts, Humanities, Information Literacy Enhancement, and Reading/Writing Enhancement.
Communication Studies MinorDigital Film and Cinema Studies Minor
Curry's Digital Film and Cinema Studies minor will prepare Media and Communication Arts majors for careers in this exciting and ever-evolving field. Students will learn hands-on production from professional filmmakers and experience the creative force of filmmaking and cinema. Non-Media and Communication Arts students can also benefit from a minor in Digital Film and Cinema Studies, as many of our courses fulfill Gen Ed requirements in the Arts, Humanities, Information Literacy Enhancement, and Reading/Writing Enhancement.

Students who graduate with a Media and Communication Arts degree with a focus in sports communication, and even non-MCA majors, will have the knowledge and tool belt to work in a variety of settings, from the traditional to the cutting-edge, including sports writing, reporting, and blogging, sports radio/TV broadcasting and live streaming, sports social media and digital content creation, sports promotion and sales, sports photojournalism, and much more!
Sports Communication MinorTheatre Minor
Curry Theatre can not only be pursued as a minor, but this unique and exciting program is open to all students at the College. Each semester, students write, direct, build, promote, and stage productions in the larger Keith Auditorium and its more initimate Black Box Theatre on campus.
Video Gaming Studies Minor
The Curry College Video Gaming Studies minor is one of the only programs of its kind in the area to train students in the practical skills of game design while also incorporating a critical analysis of video games with the gaming industry's business.
