Finding Solutions Together

While we work together to navigate this rapidly changing environment, all of our Academic Support Service offices remain staffed during normal business hours. Appointments with many of the offices can be made using the appointment scheduling links on the myCurry portal under 'Academic Support'. Below is additional information on each area:

  • The  Office of Advising & Academic Success is available to assist with any questions that you may have related to advising or progress in your classes. Advising questions can be emailed to  academicadvising@curry.edu or call 617-333-2194. Concerns about academic alerts or academic progress can be sent to  academicsuccess@curry.edu or call 617-333-2279.

  • Students who receive academic accommodations through  The Office of Accessibility Services are still entitled to these accommodations regardless of the mode of delivery of the class. If you have questions or concerns about your accommodations, please email accessibilityservices@curry.edu or call 617-333-2385.

  • PAL Faculty and Staff remain available to work with students in the PAL program. Students enrolled in PAL should contact their PAL Faculty Member to access their services. Questions about accommodations and PAL class should be directed to your PAL faculty member; general questions can be emailed to  pal@curry.edu or call 617-333-2250.

  • The Writing Center will move to telephone and online appointments at this time. Please continue to sign up for appointments through the 'Writing/Math Center' icon on the myCurry portal (located in the Quick Launch menu).

  • Two Ways to Access Tutoring:

    • Peer Tutoring: Students in need of a peer tutor can utilize the Acuity scheduling platform to view the list all of the Curry College approved peer tutors and the areas in which they tutor, as well as book an appointment with a peer tutor. There is no cost to students for Curry College peer tutors and students can access the system through the myCurry portal on the 'Academic Support' tab under 'Academic Tutoring.'

    • Pear Deck Tutor (formerly TutorMe): In areas where a peer tutor is not available, or a student prefers a professional tutor, students have access to Pear Deck Tutor, a 24/7 on demand virtual live tutoring service. The link to Pear Deck Tutor is embedded in each student’s Canvas Learning Management System left navigation pane. Students are able to utilize 180 minutes of tutoring a week through this service.

  • Online  Library databases and resources are available for your use. You can access these through the 'Library' tab on the portal or through the  Library webpage. Information on how to connect with a librarian is also available on the Library webpage.

  • Career & Experiential Learning staff are available to assist you with resume review, mock interviews, and other items related to choosing a major, internships, and job searches. Questions can be sent to  careerdevelopment@curry.edu or you can call 617-333-2195.

Communication Tools: Individual faculty members may choose to communicate with students through a variety of different means. Examples of some of the communication tools include Blackboard Collaborate Ultra, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom. Apps for each of these tools are available for download and accessible from computers, tablets, and mobile devices. Click these links if you need to download these apps: Microsoft Teams, or Zoom. Participant training resources for each of these tools are available: Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.

eBooks: Follett, our College bookstore, is offering all Curry students access to seven (7) eBooks at no charge with your @students.curry.edu email address. Access the Curry College Bookstore website to take advantage of this resource.

Other Useful Tools:

  • Hybrid/Online Readiness: All students have been added to the course COVID-19 Course Continuity - STUDENTS on Blackboard. For students that have not recently been enrolled in a Hybrid or Online course, it is highly recommended that you review this brief course. This course simulates many of the technical functions and features of Blackboard that you may experience. Find this course in your course listing on Blackboard.

  • Office Lens: Office Lens trims, enhances, and makes pictures of whiteboards and documents readable. You can use Office Lens to convert images to PDF, Word and PowerPoint files, and you can even save images to OneNote or OneDrive. Office Lens is like having a scanner in your pocket. Like magic, it will digitize notes from whiteboards or blackboards. Always find important documents or business cards. Sketch your ideas and snap a picture for later. Download

  • Adobe Creative Cloud: The College has provisioned access to Adobe Creative Cloud for students in courses that utilize this software for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester. In order to access Adobe Creative Cloud, go to adobe.com, click sign in, click Continue with Google, enter your Curry e-mail address credentials ( username@students.curry.edu), under Your Services click “Open.” Once signed in, you will have student access to download Adobe Creative Cloud software ( https://creativecloud.adobe.com).
