Academic ExcellenceGil Aronson is a graduate of Salem State College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary and Physical Education. He was a four-year member of the Varsity Tennis Team and was Mass State College singles champ in his junior year, and they went on to a perfect 16-0 record and qualified for the NCAA Division III national tournament at Millsaps College in Biloxi, MS where they made it the second round of competition.
After graduating from Salem State, Aronson was appointed interim Men's tennis coach at Salem State, and he also enrolled in the School of Education at Boston University where he received his Ed.M in Education (Leisure Studies). While enrolling at BU, he began his career as a Middle School teacher in the Duxbury (MA) Public Schools. He coached freshman football and intramural basketball and track. During the summer months he coached tennis at both Tufts University Tennis camp (two summers) and was also Head Tennis Pro for two summer seasons at the Winchester Swim Club in Winchester, MA.
Also during his teaching career, Aronson was appointed Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach at Massasoit Community College (Brockton, MA). He coached the Men's Team for one season when the program was discontinued. Unfortunately, his teaching career took a detour as he was RIF'd because of Proposition 2 1/2 in Massachusetts. He changed his career and took a state-run training course in the high tech field.
Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, Aronson accepted a position for one season as Boys’ Varsity Tennis Coach at the Cambridge School of Weston in Weston, MA. Due to the pandemic all interscholastic athletics were canceled for the 2020 and 2021 academic years.
For the past 35 years he has been employed in the Cybersecurity field in the Greater Boston Area. He has always had a passion to get back into coaching, and he is at a point in his career where he would enjoy coaching and mentoring once again.
