On December 11, students in the Curry College MBA program presented their conclusions to the leadership of Caritas Communities, a non-profit organization that provides affordable housing to low-income individuals in the Greater Boston area. This was the second consecutive cohort to work with Caritas.
This semester, students carried on the mission to decrease vacancies from 66 to zero. The group conducted 120 interviews with employers in low-wage industries, including retail and food service, in an effort to gauge interest and their willingness to assist. They found that most employers do want to see their employees secure stable housing. Many are now anticipating follow-up from Caritas.
