Students from the Curry College chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the national Criminal Justice Honor Society, recently had the opportunity to assist SWAT team members during a visit to a Metro SWAT training session in Plainville, Mass. The students role-played as hostages for different scenarios and watched how the team enters homes, uses different equipment, and works together to deal with high-stress scenarios such as home invasions and active shooter situations.
"It was a great learning experience for those looking to go into the field of law enforcement," said Criminal Justice Honor Society Executive Committee member Anthony Valentino, Class of 2017.
Members of the SWAT team hail from different municipal agencies from around the Boston area.
