The Department of Fine and Applied Arts recently launched the virtual portion of its Fall 2020 Student Art Exhibit on the College’s Instagram and Facebook social media channels. The virtual exhibition features work by graphic design and studio arts majors and minors, and showcases the work of students by celebrating their creativity, innovation, perseverance and introspection during a time of challenge.

“Students in the graphic design and studio arts programs develop an individual creative vision and voice through a curriculum that first introduces art and graphic design as visual communication and creative problem solving, then reinforces these skills in a variety of media, placing emphasis on using formal skills to convey thoughts and ideas visually,” says Department Chair Iris Kumar.

The exhibit has two components: a physical presence in the Shelley Hoon Keith Gallery that features senior work, and a virtual component that features students at every stage of their development. Senior work was also showcased virtually during the Arts Brunch session of Homecoming and Family Weekend.
