Curry College recognizes that being the first in your family to attend college is exciting and a source of personal and family pride. However, we also know that it can be a challenge navigating college life in the first-year, and as such, Curry is committed to creating a community of academic and social supports for first-generation college students and their families. Currently, 37% of our first-year students have identified as First-Generation and 15% of our total student population have identified as First-Generation.
At Curry, we encourage students, faculty, and staff to self-identify as "First-Generation" if your parent(s) or guardian(s) did not attain a bachelor's degree at a college or university in the United States. This definition aligns with that of the United States Department of Education and used on the Common App.
