In cooperation with PayrollOrg, Curry College presents the PayTrain College & University program for payroll professionals. Comprised of two professional development courses, PayTrain Fundamentals® and PayTrain, this program is designed for all levels of payroll administration.

The PayTrain College & University program is designed to increase your knowledge of payroll compliance from a basic understanding to an advanced level, and prepare you for the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification exams.

PayTrain Fundamentals is ideal for:

  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) exam candidates
  • FPCs or CPPs needing recertification credit hours (RCHs)

Course Content:

The PayTrain Fundamentals course teaches the fundamental payroll calculations and applications providing students with the basic knowledge and skills required to maintain payroll compliance and prevent costly penalties. This course is ideal for new payroll professionals, those who support the payroll industry, and those who are preparing for FPC certification. For those taking the CPP examination it is strongly recommended that you take the PayTrain Fundamentals course and the PayTrain course. Learning the fundamental calculations and applications is critical to successfully passing the CPP exam and is not covered in PayTrain Mastery.  Mastery and Fundamentals can be taken in any order.

Topics include the introductory study of:

  • Payroll concepts
  • Paycheck calculations
  • Fringe benefits
  • Payroll reporting and employment taxes
  • Record keeping and payroll practices
  • Payroll accounting
  • Administration

This course is designed for 25 contact hours, earning participants 2.5 CEUs or 25 RCHs.

  • Payroll departments requiring compliance training
  • Experienced payroll practitioners and those supporting the payroll industry

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exam candidates

PayTrain is a comprehensive course providing students with a solid understanding of advanced payroll topics necessary for payroll managers and supervisors. This course is ideal for experienced payroll professionals seeking compliance training, professional development, or CPP certification preparation.

Full refunds will be issued if the student withdraws from the course before it begins. Non-attendance does not constitute official withdrawal. Students must call 888-260-7325 to withdraw prior to the first class. Students are not eligible for a refund once the course has started.
